Anyone Planning on Watching Castlevania?

Otaku USA did an article on the 5th of this month announcing the English and Japanese casts. I found the English cast list interesting (copied here as found on Otaku USA):

Dracula: Graham McTavish (The Hobbit)
Trevor Belmont: Richard Armitage (The Hobbit)
Alucard: James Callis (Battlestar Galactica)
Sypha Belnades: Alejandra Reynoso (Winx Club)
Lisa Tepes: Emily Swallow (Supernatural)
The Bishop: Matt Frewer (Max Headroom)
Elder: Tony Amendola (Stargate SG-1)

The Japanese cast:
Dracula: Naoya Uchida
Trevor Belmont: Ryotaro Okiayu
Alucard: Shinichiro Miki
Sypha Belnades: Ayaka Shimoyamada

The show premiered on Netflix Friday (July 7th). Anyone planning on watching it? Personally, I haven't decided yet.

Ah, I just found out this was happening... I *loved* that game as a kid (most of the modern audience is probably not old enough to remember it). Hard to say if I will find my way to watching it eventually; it will depend on what I hear about it, I guess. But yeah! Exciting cast!

It was on my List of things to poke Kat about.

I hadn't heard of it before, but just the name and the fact that there's a Dracula involved is enough to make me want to give it a shot, if they put it on DVD.

The anime is a Netflix "Original" so here's to hoping.

Well that sounds pretty interesting :D Love me a bit of Gray McTavish :D

Hope so. I haven't tried it yet. Its been getting some pretty mixed reviews from anime fans and fans of the video games. Lol. That does not surprise me.

Oh hun, die-hards always have something to complain about ;)

LOL. This is true and I've been ignoring the ones that are obviously complaining just to complain, though I am surprised that there wasn't more raging over the voice acting choices. There is always raging over casting no matter who it is. People are even happy about the animation overall, which is shocking as there is always raging over the quality of the animation on almost everything. The mixed reviews are more everyone is either "OMG everything about this is so perfect why must it be so boring" or "OMG the epicness." I am not sure what to do with that and I won't really have access to Netflix again until September for me to find out for myself.
