About Me Fall Edition
What is your fall/Halloween aesthetic/theme?
All of them
Favorite Halloween party activity:
In college, the international dorm threw a party every year and one year I was invited, they had this rubber band gun shooting game where the gun was made of chopsticks and it shot little rubber bands at these paper targets and there were prizes. That was a lot of fun.
What would you serve for food and drinks at a halloween/fall party?
That would depend a lot on the party and who was coming. The last time I was in charge of food, I made brain cupcakes and vampire cupcakes. I have also helped with a lot of food that looks like other things, like body parts. For drinks, it would probably be some sort of strange colored punch or apple cider.
What did you dress up as for Halloween this year?
Shock of shocks, I did not dress up for Halloween this year. According to a fun quiz, based on my birthday, I should have been a sexy TV.
Favorite Halloween song:
This is hard and I have a playlist on Spotify to prove it, but lately it has been "Scare Me" by Ludo.
Favorite Autumn food:
Various casseroles?
Favorite Autumn hot drink:
I was going to say tea, but I drink that all year. Hot cider
Favorite scent of Autumn:
The air right after it rains
Favorite fall activity:
The library's annual horror movie marathon
Overall favorite fall drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic):
Mountain Dew's Voo Dew mystery flavor of the year
Favorite fall /Halloween movie to watch:
It's rude that you are making me pick favorites, but I will go with Clue.
Autumn coffee order:
This year (2022), it was a Sweater Weather Chai White Coffee from Dutch Bros.
Favorite Autumn treat:
All my brain will come up with is the variety of cinnamon sugar coated bakery, so that.
What percentage Autumn are you based on quiz results from @ cs.samanta?
80%
What do you like to do outside in Autumn:
Take walks
Favorite fall holidays:
Halloween and the autumnal equinox
Favorite part of Autumn:
All of it?
Favorite fall travel destination:
I'm not sure I've ever done any fall traveling besides going back to school when I was in college.
Favorite fall TV show:
It used to be Supernatural, but I guess I'm in the market for a new one now. The Great North Halloween specials were pretty good this year though.
Over the Garden Wall!
Red, yellow, or green apples?
Green apples
Favorite fall sport to play?
No
Must have fall purchase:
Looking at the last few years, apparently, it's plants, especially air plants in seasonal containers.
Pumpkins: pick your own or store-bought?
I've never actually gotten to pick my own pumpkins, even the year I grew pumpkins, or tried to. So, I guess store bought.
Real or fake pumpkin:
It depends on what I am doing, though I always buy too many of both.
Favorite scary movie:
Trick 'r Treat, still rude to make me choose
Favorite Halloween candy
Reese's peanut butter cups, but I am drawn to all holiday themed novelty candy as well
Favorite frightening book:
Again, rude, but I will go with The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix
Favorite monster:
It's like chosing between my nonexistent children! Krampus? Kraken? Were creatures of all sorts? Gremlins? Goblins? Dragons? Franken-creatures of all sorts? Too hard.
Favorite Halloween costume:
When I was 3 or 4, my mother made me a Batman costume. My cousin was on the high school dance team and they had done a Batman themed number that year and my mother had been roped into making the bulk of the team's costumes, so that was where the pattern came from, but mine was made of black trash bags and was waterproof, so I could trick or treat in the rain - very important here. Best costume ever.
Fall or Halloween decor:
I probably own more fall decor, but I use them interchangeably and tend to turn one into the other, depending on my purposes.
Raking leaves or no leaves to rake
Most of the trees in my region of the world have needles, not leaves. So yes taking, but not leaves.
Favorite soup:
Potato with all the extras
Favorite fall candle scent:
I generally look for the apple scents, but I have a giant list of fall scents I want.
Love or hate pumpkin spice:
Love that the season has an "official" flavor, hate that it's that. Yes, I will eat pumpkin spice things just because it's fall, even though I don't like it - but not very much, I have limits.
Short booties or tall boots:
I prefer the look of tall boots, but my calves are too big to wear them, so I end up in short boots.
Pumpkin spice latte (PSL), yes or no:
No
Spooky Autumn or cozy Autumn:
You say that like it can't be both
Haunted house or Halloween party:
This depends on a lot of things, but I am going to go with haunted house.
What did you dress up for Halloween last year 2021:
I technically did not dress up last year, but a friend and I came up with a name for my non-costume that was great. Unfortunately, I don't have access to those texts anymore. Something about exhausted housewife who threw on cat ears when the trick or treaters showed up.
Have you purchased any fall decor yet:
…I know it's January, but surprisingly the answer is still yes.
Favorite photo you took last fall:
If you mean 2021, it's a tough choice between the pictures I took at Nick &C's wedding.
If you mean 2022, I caught my cat being adorable often.
Favorite color to wear in autumn:
Orange, it scares people when I wear colors, especially warm ones, and they tend to be surprised I can pull that particular one off.
Favorite Autumn themed book:
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Best way to spend a rainy day:
Listening to it while cozied up with a book
Favorite autumn quote:
"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers" L M Montgomery
Favorite Autumn leaf:
Any one I find that isn't overly wet
Is your birthday in Autumn?
No
Something that scares you:
Heights
Favorite fall color:
All of them? Burnt orange or if I am going more Halloween, the bright green, bright purple, black, and white combo
Favorite thing to carve on a pumpkin:
Faces with jagged mouths
How does fall make you feel:
Full of possibility
Least favorite Halloween candy:
Candy corn
