Sad News

I know most of you belong to Jen's cancer update group on Facebook, but just in case you have not seen it or I did not get a hold of you via messenger or the phone last night, cheshirejin passed away yesterday afternoon.

She was surrounded by family when she slipped away from us.

Her family is planning a celebration of life this summer so that way it will be a true celebration of life and not a “boo hoo fest” (as Leeza put it), which is how Jen would want it. It will also allow for people traveling great distances to attend. When there is more info regarding services and how the family would like to handle expressions of condolence, Vexed or I will try to be in touch with people to let them know and I will try to put something up here.

Her birthday is next week and I was thinking maybe we, her online family, should do something, but my brain sort of refuses to cooperate with coming up with ideas at the moment. So if anyone has any thoughts, please share.

Madrona members and watchers, Jen had been planning to move madrona_project and madrona_info to DW before she had to go back to the hospital. Vexed and I will be doing that before the winter holiday season. It was Jen's baby and we promised her during the first round of this, that we would keep it going. We are also trying to come up with some sort of holiday for the capital to honor Jen, like a founder's day or a patron goddess day or something. Suggestions and input are welcome and encouraged. Proper posts will go up at the comms eventually.
