Summer Break

Ok so I'm playing at little catch up at the moment. This summer was largely uneventful. Most of it was spent hanging out with Martini; shopping, playing video games, going to movies, etc. I also babysat her birds for a day. I turned 21 this summer. For my birthday Jen got me tickets to a show (Five Guys Named Moe) at the cab she works at and we then went bar hopping. She was the only one to get me a cake ( hostess cupcake with a votive candle on it). I also went to my grandmother's for a week, which has become the norm. When i'm there mostly i sit around and watch tv and talk with her while doing different crafts. Maybe ill post pictures. While i was there my aunt took me to Multnomah Falls, Bridge of the Gods, Cascade Locks and Vista House. Later Jen and I made a 3 day run to Hairball's house, which was pretty awesome. I would go into more detail but that was so long ago no one cares.

Fall Term

Still playing catch up. And remember if weird names are used it's because I don’t have permission to use the person's real name, so I made up a "cute" nickname for them. Ok fall term border lined on disaster. I got my worst grade of my school career. I took on too much work and couldn’t do anything about it. First was training at work. I’m working at the new building and the new area desk, which means 26 people work here instead of 7. 23 of them are new to the job. I have my favorite co-workers but I don’t really know most of them. My new boss is everything they said she would be and more and lets just leave it at that. For classes I took Arh 300, Gothic sculpture, Religious folklore and German cinema. Arh 300 is a research paper and "career prep" class for art history majors. It is a very useful class and is mandatory but with everything else I had to do the workload nearly killed me. There are many people in the class dropped all their other classes just to tackle the workload. I did not have that luxury. I turned in my final paper an hour late, so here it is week five of the next term and I still don’t have a grade. Gothic sculpture was a cool class but I was a bit pissed because we got 8 weeks behind in the class and only covered 3 things. Religious folklore was by far my favorite class but it was also work intensive and it kind of fell by the way side because of my art history classes. I wasn’t taking it for major credit though, so I took it pass/no pass, luckily. The professor was awesome. He teaches religious folklore and pop culture folklore and has just a great personality. He was also all morbid and apocalyptic. If he had been a bit younger I’m sure I would have fallen madly in love with him. German cinema was fun and I'm glad I got to take it once before I graduated but it was just sitting and watching movies (which I love) but that was time that could have been spent doing other things, like sleeping. Fall term wasn’t all bad. I met a new friend. She shall be referred to as the VeniceBiatch because she drives me insane. I also went to Rocky as usual. We finally have a new guy playing Rocky. It was wierd though because this year almost 2/3 of the cast were Rocky Virgins. I also met Wikkid. He is a friend of VeniceBiatch and he drives us places. Sometimes we go to his house and cook but I mostly just stayed in my room trying not to go insane.

Winter Break

Almost done playing catch up I swear. Over break I attempted to take it easy and sleep but that didn’t work out too well. To start off break my dad and I had to go to my aunt my house for dinner so couldn’t go home for 3 days after I finished finals week. We stayed with his friends and it was total chaos. GC had just moved back in and was intentionally causing as many fights with her parents as possible. Also there was a 15-year-old exchange student from France there that didn't speak much English. Her host family went on vacation without her. GC and the French girl and I went to see The Holiday. Dinner at my aunts was just uncomfortable to the point of being almost painful. When I finally got home my mother decided to drag me to every gallery exhibit she could find. Which wasn’t too bad. Flyboy was in town for 2 days so I went to dinner with him and Livers, which was fun. This year we didn’t go Christmas tree hunting and had a fake tree for the first time ever. We also didn’t make it to go look at lights. I went to the movies, Medford and sushi with Martini and Livers. Jen was home for about 2 days so I got to see her and I got to see her in Medford too. Most of my break was spent playing Mexican dominoes or trying to sleep. I gave my cat her first catnip toy, a catnip filled chili pepper and she just went crazy it was good to watch. It was a bit odd at home because my dog died right before thanksgiving break. Both my cousin and one of my sisters had kids not too long ago as well. I also got new glasses while it was home. New year’s eve I went to the movies with Jen's mom and my aunt. Martini had to come and rescue me from them later. I crocheted yet another scarf. I really don’t remember break too much...so I'm just going to stop trying to write about it before I hurt myself.

Winter term

Almost there. This term I’m trying to take it easier. I'm only working overnights now, so work isn’t interfering with class and I only have to work 2 days a week, but I still get my 16 hours. It’s still kind of bad though because few of the new people are doing the job right and it’s driving the returnees and my boss nuts. For classes I’m taking Michelangelo to Bormini, Medieval Studies, and Classical Greek Art. Michelangelo to Bormini is a Roman renaissance Architecture art history class. If I had known it was an architecture class, I would have never taken it, but I cant drop it, so I’m just dealing with it. It's taught by this odd retired British guy. I really liked him and then I hated him but now he is growing on me so we shall see how the term goes. Medieval studies is a new art history class, (that has the longest course description ever), that has never been taught before and I’m taking it from the same professor that I took gothic sculpture from last term, but she is doing a lot better this term. She also volunteered to be my advisor, which helped me out a lot so now it looks like I’m graduating at the end of fall 2007 instead of spring 2008. I’m really liking that class so far. Classical Greek art is not really one of my favorite subjects (to say the least) but it is being taught by SuperProf so it’s not too bad. I really like his teaching style and they way he grades, so I might do ok, especially since I am familiar with the way he works. There have only been a couple of highlights this term. One was VeniceBiatch's Tattoo. I went with her when she was getting estimates and I was there when she got it. She ended up getting it at the Parlor instead of HP. Hp is the best when it comes to piercings but they are not the friendliest when it comes to tattoos. The tat is of the ghost ship off a Decembrists album on her butt. Its huge! (The tat not her butt) When we were driving around with Wikkid when she was getting estimates he played one of his cds for me. (He is a DJ) He had a couple mashups I liked. One was lady sovereign/eurhythmics and the other was Madonna/Death Cab for Cutie. The other highlight was DonJohn's birthday party. He turned 20 and his mom got him a room on the VIP floor of the Hilton. So he had a pool party then we all hung out in his room. It was pretty awesome. I met some new people. Even hairball was social-able and had a good time. I was really surprised when TopHatBoy got really excited when he found out I have a deviant art page. I got to know The Rev a lot better and I even danced with him a little. Hairball is teasing me a bit though cause I was switching my time between two boys and they were flirting back and I never do anything like that. Fun was had by all. We left around 11 and we made the Rev take a cab with us cause we didn’t want him walking home alone in the dark, and he lives by us.

So this weekend was my mom's birthday. She is very sensitive about it. Amazingly, she ended up having a good time. She got my card on time but not my present. At work the announcer announced my mother's birthday and age every hour on the hour and then whenever she felt like it. The people my mom works with made her up a big gift basket of random stuff, which my mom ended up likening. They also make her a t-shirt and a cake. Even the truck driver that she always flirts with gave her a present. After work, Jen's mom and my aunt took her to dinner, drinks, and a concert, which amazingly enough my mother also liked. My mother is in just absolute shock that she enjoyed her birthday and I’m very happy for her. The next day she went to dinner with my sister (the oldest one, the only one that counts, duh.) I have yet to hear how that went.
Jen also finally got her video that I made her for her birthday (its only about 4 months late). She likes it very much and I’m very glad.
I’ve taken up watching Star Trek in the mornings 'cause I’m awake and there is nothing else on at 6 am on a Saturday except old Star Trek. This week they had intergalactic hippies on the show, which I found highly amusing and have no idea why I’m telling you.
Only 4 more hours till I get off work.

I got a "wacky web sites calendar" that talks about a different wierd website everyday; so I thought I would share. That and I am learning how to do a cut.
cross your fingers )
of course there are websites that just didn't work, like the one that was about building corsets.
