About Me

Name: [personal profile] spiralicious aka Kat aka Katt aka Kattrip033 aka Gummiwolf aka SpiralKat aka several other things depending on the space
Age: 38

Bio: Normally, I start this off talking about the animals in my life, but as of a month an a half ago, I am both petless and not a regular caretaker of other animals for the first time in about 17 years. It's something I'm still having trouble getting used to.

However, I am still an aunt to the precious Peanut and their new sibling Pumpkin, who are creatures of the human variety, whom I try to spoil whenever possible. (Technically, I am also the aunt of four other wonderful humans, but they are adults who no longer appreciate my spoiling.)

Around this time last year, I became a great aunt.

I'm in a rather bumpy period in life right now and I'm trying to give myself some grace while I work my way out of it. I've also gotten to a point where I am tired of sugarcoating it for other people.

I am an artist, a writer, an avid fanpuppy, a player of Subeta, a Pinterest addict (Seriously, I have five accounts), the keeper of the Madrona Info comm and whip cracker at times of the Madrona Project comm (I've been told this makes me a Mod, nonsense.), a serious Japanophile, a crafter/DIYer, a font of weird knowledge, a queer person, a horror fan, a kinkster, pagan, a pet parent, an aunt (seriously, I am everyone's spinster aunt and I'm leaning into it ), a former house/pet sitter (15 years), a tabletop RPG gamer, my D&D family's mom, a cosplayer, a builder of imaginary worlds, a strong believer that Halloween is a way of life, not just a holiday, a reader, a cook, a tea drinker, a former art association board member (5 years), a former art association newsletter editor (5 years), a former co-head of a weekly life drawing group (6 years), a former design team member of the local scrapbooking/paper crafting store, and a bunch of other stuff that is too difficult to put in list form.

All while living middle of nowhere adjacent.

Most of my time is spent wrangling my anxiety and trying to build a life I don't need a vacation from. Though, I have recently taken up gardening.

My journal is partially flocked and partially public.

Friending Policy: As long as I know how you found me and you're over 18, I will generally friend you back.

Core Fandoms: I normally say I have about 80 fandoms, but when I was listing them, I actually hit 154 before I lost the document... and I wasn't done. Here are my main ones in no particular order: Supernatural, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Good Omens, Merlin, Blue Exorcist, InuYasha, Avatar: the Last Airbender, Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone Complex mainly, but the franchise as a whole), Aggretsuko, Law & Order, The Simpson's, Addam's Family, Batman, Godzilla, Samurai Champloo, & The Sandman.

For the rest, I have made an Ultimate Fandom List, which can be found here and will be updated as needed.

Characters/Ships: As far as ships go, I am that shipper they made that armada meme about. I wish I was kidding, I have over 45 in Supernatural alone, but in most fandoms I just have a handful. This list is unwieldy enough that it has it's own post now, here.

Other Interests: 80's cartoons, 90's cartoons, Alfred Hitchcock, alone time, androgyny, anime, Anthony Bourdain, art, art history, art journaling, ATCs, autumn/fall, baking, bardcore/tavernwave, big foot, bondage, books, book clubs, boots, bullet journaling, card making, carpe noctem, cartoons, cats, Christmas in July, cleaning/organizing/decluttering, cooking, cosplay/costuming/casual cosplay, cottagecore, crab, crafty things, creepy, creepy kawaii, D&D, dahlias, dark romanticism, DIY, dragons, drawing, Dungeons & Dragons, energy drinks, erotic, fandom, fan fiction/fan art/fan videos, fantasy, femslash, fetish, Finland, flying pigs, food, Frida Kahlo, Fuckology, Funkos, geekiness, gender bending, gender expression, Germany, glitter, goblincore, Godzilla, gore, gothic, graphic novels, grunge, gummy bears, hair dye, Halloween, HIM, horror, horror movies, ink, Japan, Japanese lore, kicking anxiety's ass, kink, Koi fish, kraken, Krampus, languages, latrinailia, manga, medieval, mental health, mer-creatures, metal, Minions, moon, movies, music, Neil Gaiman, night, nonbinary, Norse myths, occult, ocean, octopi/squid/tentacled creatures, pagan, painting, pandas, Pathfinder, piercings, Pinterest, pinups, planners, plaguecore, Pon and Zi, punk, purple, queer, rain, reading, road trips, rock, Rocky Horror Picture Show, rubber duckies, sarcasm, Scandinavia, Seattle, skulls, smut, stickers, streaming, Subeta, sushi, Svengoolie, tabletop RPGs, tarot cards, tattoos, tea, tigers, Torrid, traveling, TV on DVD, unicorns, urban farming, vampires (the non-sparkly kind), vikings, Vincent Price, water, were-creatures, werewolves, witches, writing, Zodiac (I'm a cancer btw), zombies

Contents of my Journal: It's mostly weekly “Clutter Buddy” goal updates. Occasionally, there are anime/movie/book/TV show reviews, episode reaction posts, video spams, blogging memes, writing tables/bingo cards, and talking about writing. But most of my journal is bits about what is going on in my real life. I am trying to do more fandom related posts.

One of my biggest fantasies is living in a cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere, preferably where it snows with a big fluffy dog.

I have a get to know me Q&A here.

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

I revisit my goals frequently so these are going to change. When it comes to my goals for the year, I like to do a brainstorm of what I might like to work on for the year at the beginning of January, let them simmer for a month or two, then tweak them into more refined, workable goals. (Okay, they get tweaked during the simmer period too, but they don't feel fully formed yet.) These are my current 2022 goals in their brainspew/word salad form:
