One of the things I did at home was watch a lot of PBS. One Saturday they had this program about learning how to understand French wines, called Uncorked. I really have no interest in wine but I watched anyway. I learned a lot. The program covered the concept of Terrior, what the AOC is, how to read labels, BRIX, Californian vs. French wines, and Burgundy vs. Bordeaux (how regions made a difference). The next episode was a road trip to different vineyards but I missed it. I also missed that weekend’s episode of Tartan TV, which I wanted to watch because it was about J.M. Barrie. I also watched this interesting program called I Believe. It’s were they bring together 6 different people of 6 different faiths talking about big issues, without fighting. They disagree often but there are brawls and no yelling. Also I watched Pride and Prejudice on Masterpiece Theater, which was hosted by Gillian Anderson.

I made a friend! We shall call her tinybabymama. She is pregnant and very young. But sometimes she surprises me with what she says because even though she is very immature some of the things she says are quite the opposite. I met her on my way to the library and we talk or meet every day. I am the only person she knows here other then her boyfriend and another couple in her apartment building. We have spent a lot of time together at the library and sometimes she comes with me when I run errands. The day after Easter we dyed eggs together. She texts me almost everyday. Sometimes we hang out at her apartment. Last time I was over there we oo and aahhhed at all the loot she got at her two baby showers. She is very bored but one of her sisters has just moved down, temporarily.

My freakin’ Diploma finally came. It’s official. I’m a graduate.

Tinybabymama also dyed my hair. It was this awesome red color but since then it has grown out about an inch and the top layer (with all the sun exposure) is turning pink. The under layers are still red though. It didn’t turn out the color we had anticipated but she did a beautiful job. Tinybabymama had a lot of fun and she can’t wait to do it again.

I was going to sign up for some classes at the community college (my mother's idea) but I ended up not doing that. I was mostly looking at computer classes but another class caught my attention and now I wish I had taken it. The course description: Madness & Suicide in Literature: From Shakespeare’s aging king to Arthur Miller’s failing salesman, society’s attitude toward madness and suicide has shaped literature. Explore how the views of individual writers reflect the attitudes of the cultures and times in which they live towards madness or suicide.
